More Updates about H-1B Quota

January 7, 2011

Late yesterday, the USCIS advised AILA liaison that the unused Singapore and Chile H-1B visas from previous fiscal year accounted for 6,350. Accordingly, these visas have been added to the current fiscal year’s H-1B regular quota. As a result, the total number of visas for the current fiscal year = 64,550. As of December 31, USCIS confirmed receipt of 57,300. Going by the above numbers, it is highly likely that the quota will reach the cap shortly, perhaps in a week or two.
