Update on H-1B Quota Numbers

The H-1B filings began April 1, 2010.  The USCIS confirmed that as of April 8, 2010, it has received 13,500 petitions in the regular cap of 65,000.  Out of 20,000 U.S. Masters cap, the USCIS confirmed that it has received 5,600 petitions as of April 8.  These numbers indicate that although employers are willing to file H-1B petitions, there seems to be a great sense of caution and apprehension due to the recently issued Neufeld memo on H-1B adjudications.
